Monday on Tuesday

This was not a good morning.

I went downstairs to see if school had been cancelled for the boys because of ice (it hadn't) and came across our 17 year old dog who has apparently decided the carpet is a much better place to go than outside.

Not amused.

So, at 7 a.m. I am standing there shampooing the carpet with Oxy Clean (my other love). Did I mention it was 7 FREAKING O' CLOCK IN THE MORNING?! To say I like mornings is a bad joke. To say I like cleaning up after a dog at 7 FREAKING o' clock in the morning....let's just not go there.

And then, in honor of my efforts--right in front of me, mind you, SHE SQUATS AGAIN. RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME!

I WAS NOT FREAKING AMUSED.

Yes, she is 17 years old and pretty darn senile, but COME ON! ARGGGGGGGG!

So that was how my morning began. Hopefully yours went much better.

I can't say my morning was much better...I woke up to the little boy saying "uh oh" because he had pee'd in his underwear (and on the carpet.) And, I've tried the oxyclean stuff with my pets, but I really like the Woolite pet stain cleaner. Have you tried it?

When our last dog was 15 years old he spent most of his life asleep. The minute he stirred however, you had to grab him (he was relatively small) and put him out immediately or he would relieve himself where ever he was standing. It got to be so routine, when I put him out, he would stand where I placed him, pee, then simply wait to be carried back into the house and back to his bed!

Mama said there'd be days like this...

I've had too many of "those" days this week! ARGGGG. At least it can only go up from here, right? LOL!

I'll have to try the Woolite-thanks for the suggestion.

After having her for 17 years, we are wrestling with whether we should have her put to sleep or let her continue on. I have had people tell me we need to go ahead and put her to sleep, but how do you know if that is the right thing to do? She's not in pain, but she is not completely "here" either as far as mentally. A friend said she acts like she has Alzheimer's...I'm just not sure what to do. She has been the best dog for 17 years. The twins have never known life without her (they are 14)....
